Walk and Talk Therapy

Walk and talk therapy is a powerful alternative to traditional in-room counselling, combining the benefits of physical activity with professional therapeutic support. We are fortunate in Plymouth, this approach is uniquely enhanced by the city’s natural surroundings. Sessions could take place along the scenic waterfront, along the Promenade, where clients can breathe in the invigorating sea air and take in calming views from Plymouth Hoe. The open skies, historic lighthouse, and expansive sea create a grounding atmosphere that encourages openness and reflection. (Please note, I can not guarantee the weather!)
Alternatively, Dartmoor offers a more secluded and rugged landscape, ideal for those seeking deeper introspection away from urban distractions. The moor’s vast, untamed beauty provides a sense of space and freedom that can be profoundly therapeutic.
Walking side by side rather than sitting face to face can help you feel more at ease, reducing anxiety and encouraging a natural flow of conversation. The physical movement also stimulates the mind and body, helping to process emotions and release tension.

Walk and talk sessions last for 50 to 60 minutes and are along a pre-agreed route that is comfotable for us both.
